M’luru: Over Rs 4 crore gold seized at MIA in Nov

Customs Officers at Mangaluru International Airport seized gold weighing 7,692 grams of 24 Carat purity from 10 male passengers in the month of November.

The value of the confiscated gold is at Rs.4,01,18,280.

The passengers arriving from Dubai attempted to smuggle using different modus operandi such as concealment in LED bulb, wrist watch, keypad mobile phone, beading of trolley bags, silver coated plates in motor of cappuccino maker, paste/powder form inside layers of carton box, double layered vest, underwear and socks worn by passenger and in rectum.
