M’luru: Teenager declared brain dead; Parents decide to donate his organs

Ullal: In a noble deed, the parents of a student who was declared brain dead at a hospital here have consented to donate his organs.

Yashraj (16), a resident of Byderepalu in Mastikatte in Ullal, was critically injured after falling off a city bus near Adamkudru on Wednesday, September 7. He was admitted to a hospital with serious head injuries. Though he was cared for in the Intensive Care Unit, his health did not improve.

On September 13, Yashraj was declared brain dead. His parents, Thyagaraj and Mamata Karkera, have reportedly consented to donate his organs to needy patients.

Yashraj was pursuing his PUC studies at St Aloysius P U college.
