M’luru: Two arrested for smuggling drugs into prison

Mangaluru: City’s CCB police have arrested two persons who were allegedly sneaking in prohibited drugs to the under-trial prisoners in the district jail.
The accused have been identified as Deekshit Kapikadu and Abhishek.
Police said the duo was carrying banned drugs — MDMA and ganja weed oil — for peddling them to the undertrials in the jail on Thursday. CCB police conducted an operation based on credible information.
About 3 grams of MDMA worth Rs 15,000 and 1.3 grams of ganja seed oil worth Rs 5,000 and mobile phones were seized form the accused.
The accused had hidden the narcotics substance in pickle packets and packages of bakery items, police said.
A case has been registered at the Barke Police station.
