M’luru: VHP demands police protection at Kadri Temple

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has appealed to the district authorities requesting them to provide adequate protection to the Kadri Sri Manjunatha temple here.
Earlier last night three youths of a different community were spotted wandering suspiciously within the premises of Kadri temple. The youths had brought their bike onto the veranda of the temple and were wearing footwear, which is strictly forbidden on the temple premises.
The trio was handed over to the police as they failed to give a satisfactory reason for their presence in the temple.
In the letter, written to the district deputy commissioner and city police commissioner it has been mentioned that previously Mohammed Shariq had attempted to target the Kadri temple with a cooker bomb.
Thus the VHP has demanded that a high-level investigation be conducted into the matter and for police protection at the temple.
