Moodbidri: Two out of five people who had gone on a trip to Yerugundi Falls at Yerugundi, Kanchibail were killed after they were struck by lightning in the heavy rain coupled with thunder that pounded the area in the evening.
The deceased are identified as Maniprasad (22), son of Rathnaker Poojary and Yashwanth (22), son of Srinivas Mugera, both residents of Kanchibail Padav.
Praveen Kumar, Ganesh, and Sandeep who were accompanying them suffered injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
