
Moody monkey’s ‘Rowdyism’ in Paivalike!

Kumble: A moody monkey has caused much problem in the surroundings of Ambikana in Paivalike panchayat. This solitary monkey is not scared of anybody, causes much mischief by sitting on the roofs of several houses and destroys crops. It also bites people.
On Thursday, the monkey was seen on the roof of the house belonging to retired teacher Paivalike Rehman Master and when attempts were made to chase the monkey, it got angry and bit the hand of a person working in the vicinity. Chandrashekar (50), a resident of Kudrekodlu suffered serious injury to his hand in this monkey attack. He was given first aid at Kasaragod government hospital and later brought to Wenlock hospital for further treatment.

Till now, the monkey has attacked and bitten many people, who have then received anti-rabies injections from Bayaru primary health centre. When the Forest Department officials arrived in accordance to the request of the localities to capture the incorrigible monkey, the monkey managed to escape into the forest without a clue. Forest officials assured the localities that trap will be set to capture the monkey.
