More than 75 PFI-SDPI leaders taken into preventive custody across Karnataka

Bengaluru: In a near-simultaneous operation, more than 75 leaders and members of PFI and SDPI were taken into preventive custody, police said on Tuesday.
As per ANI, ADGP (law and order) Bengaluru Alok Kumar said that more than 75 PFI and SDPI workers and leaders were taken into preventive custody. SDPI Yadgiri district president was among those taken into custody.
Alok Kumar said that police raids are underway across the state and cases are booked under sections 107, and 151 of CrPC.
In Raichur, former PFI President Mohammad Ismail and Secretary Asim have been detained by the authorities. In Shivamogga, 5 PFI leaders-activists were taken into custody by the police.
PFI leader Afhan Ali has been arrested in Chitradurga and four others in Ballary have been placed under preventive detention.
Two PFI leaders — district president Kapil and secretary Suhaib — were taken into preventive custody in Chamarajanaar.
In Dakshina Kannada, the police have detained more than ten persons. Four PFI leaders have been taken into custody in Udupi, PTI quoted police sources as saying. The raids were conducted at Hoode, Gangolli, and Byndoor in the district.
