Murder attempt on bakery owner; one held

Kaup: Police have arrested a person in connection with the murderous assault on a bakery owner outside his shop at Banatakal here.
The arrested has been identified as Charan Shetty (28).
On Thursday night at around 9 pm, the victim Ganesh Shetty Heroor, former president of Majoor gram panchayat was standing outside his bakery after closing its shutter when two bike-borne persons tried to assault him with lethal weapons.
Shetty however raised an alarm and seeing locals gather, the assailants fled the spot. Meanwhile, they threatened Shetty that he would be murdered.
