Kasargod: Two bike-borne miscreants are alleged to have pelted stones at the residence of the Muslim youth who had allegedly dressed as Koragajja in a procession during his wedding.

The youth Umarul Basit from Uppala Bekur had arrived at the bride’s house dressed as Koragajja deity with his friends.  In a video posted online Basit had later put out an apology and expressed regret over his actions.

On Monday, January 17 the miscreants had thrown stones at his residence shattering the window panes. They also smeared saffron paint on the compound wall.

The family members saw two persons fleeing the spot when they came out to investigate the noise. A case has been filed with Kumble police.

Meanwhile, they have given protection to his house.
