Mangaluru: Congress leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister Veerappa Moily denied the rumours that his son would be contesting the 2023 Vidhana Sabha polls from Karkala Assembly Constituency.
“Neither I nor my son Harsha Moily will contest from Karkala or any other constituency in the next assembly elections. Party workers with good standing will be given tickets,” he clarified on Sunday.
Addressing a press conference at the Dakshina Kannada district Congress office in Mallikatte, Moily expressed his confidence that the Congress party will win a clear majority. “If we have patience and campaign well as we (Congress) did in Himachal Pradesh, we will win,” he said.
Expressing displeasure with Union Minister Amit Shah announcement about the merger of coperatives, Moily said, “Nandini’s merger with Amul is an unwise step and the Centre is trying to destabilize the cooperative system. Union Minister Amit Shah is ignorant of the federal structure. His move is detrimental to the federal structure,” he said.
