Shivamogga: Rural Development Minister KS Eshwarappa has indirectly batted for Mysuru’s municipal commissioner Shilpa Nag in her dispute with the district’s Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri.

Speaking at a news conference, Eshwarappa said, “Rohini Sindhuri has been accused by representatives from all parties including ruling party MPs. I don’t know much about Rohini Sindhuri, however, Shilpa Nag had done a good job while she was in my department. She had gone to Kerala to study the village panchayat system there.”

“It is not right for IAS officers to give statements in the media. The State government has taken this very seriously. Action would be taken to prevent such incident from happening again,” he added.

Reacting to Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar’s allegations that the Centre and the State governments have failed to control COVID-19 spread, he said let them go to Rajasthan and Punjab where their party is ruling and see how much those governments have controlled COVID-19.

“The State and Central governments are doing a lot to control COVID-19, however, the Opposition is doing nothing except criticizing it. Baseless allegations were made about the vaccines, so people did not come forward to get vaccinated. Congress’s propaganda against vaccination was directly responsible for the spread of COVID-19 in the State,” he added.
