Mangaluru: The ongoing state of war in Israel has raised concerns for the coastal region’s residents, leading BJP State President and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, to address the matter.
Kateel expressed that approximately five thousand people from coastal region are in Israel and he has communicated with the Minister of External Affairs regarding their safety and protection.
He reassured that the government is committed to ensuring their safe return and that necessary steps are being taken in this regard. Additionally, Kateel has also said that he is in contact with Minister Muralidharan to coordinate efforts for their welfare.
To facilitate the process, he has advised the Dakshina Kannada district commissioner to compile comprehensive information about coastal residents in Israel.
Kateel emphasized that during times of conflict, there is an atmosphere of fear, particularly for the families of those affected. While the individuals still in Israel are reported to be safe, the fear persists.
He drew a parallel with the situation during the Russia-Ukraine war, when similar concerns arose.
He highlighted the Modi government’s commitment to safeguarding Indians abroad and reiterated his ongoing communication with the embassy to ensure the safety of the residents.
Kateel concluded by reassuring everyone that there is no need to be afraid, urging those with concerns to contact him directly for assistance and support.
