Cancer Survivor’s Day is observed on the first Sunday of June to commemorate those who have bravely fought and survived this deadly disease
A lot of Indian celebrities have successfully fought cancer. Here’s a list 5 celebrities:
Sonali Bendre
The Bollywood actress was diagnosed with metastatic cancer in 2018. She went to US for treatment for five months. Sonali took to twitter in an emotional post.
Manisha Koirala
Manisha had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and underwent surgery on 10th December. The surgery was successful.
Yuvraj Singh
Yuvraj Singh was diagnosed with a cancerous tumour in his left lung (stage 1) and underwent chemotherapy in the USA.
Lisa Ray
Indian-born actress was diagnosed with multiple Myeloma which is another type of blood cancer. She kept herself away from any kind of media attention and fought her illness for over a year coming out victorious.
Tahira Kashyap
Filmmaker and writer Tahira Kashyap was diagnosed with pre-invasive breast cancer for which she underwent a mastectomy procedure to surgically remove her affected breast.
