Several people freak out when they sight a cockroach. A man from Auckland, New Zealand who had a nightmarish experience with the insect lodged in his ear for three days went public with his trauma and advised social media users to see a doctor, preferably two, if they ever have a skin-crawling sensation. On his Facebook page, he has even posted a picture of the insect.
When Zane Wedding was first struck by the experience, he believed his ear was blocked with water, which was partially true. According to the New Zealand Herald, he assumed he had gotten water inside his ear when swimming the day before.
As he stood still, he could feel something moving within his ear, and this supposition quickly gave birth to frightening thoughts. Mr Wedding made the decision that he needed to see a doctor.
On January 8, he was given antibiotics and told to use a hair drier to dry out his ear. He decided to go to an ear clinic because the problem persisted.
The doctor informed him he might have a tumour there, but afterwards changed his mind, saying it could be an insect in his ear. When Mr Wedding heard the doctor, he said he sprung out of his chair. While working to remove the insect from his ear, the doctor was in disbelief herself.
In a post on Facebook, Mr Wedding shared an image of the cockroach. He captioned the post, “Went for a second opinion today at a different doctor and had a cockroach removed from my ear. Three days with a roach in my ear.”
