No mobile network for Beladi village

Officials, people’s representatives fail to respond to requests

Palli: During the time when the country is marching towards digital India, the people of Beladi village located within Kantavara GP limits are suffering from the lack of mobile network.

Although there are more than 200 houses in Beladi village, mobile network of no private mobile service company is available because of which, the residents here have no connection to the outside world. Besides, the lack of network is also causing problem to the distribution of rations due to which, the villagers have to keep re-visiting the ration centres.

No response to requests

The lack do internet connectivity is causing much trouble to the children studying here and families are unable to contact their loved ones who reside abroad. The former GP president Jaya Kotiyan had written multiple request letters regarding the problem to the government owned BSNL officials and other concerned officials, but to no avail. Even though the villagers have submitted requests concerning this issue during every GP meeting, they have received no relief. During an emergency, it is impossible to make a call and one has to travel 6-7 kms to make a call, inform the villagers.

No response to requests

The villagers are urging for the installation of a mobile tower in Beladi village, either belonging to a private service provider or of the government owned BSNL. Although multiple requests have been made to the concerned officials and the representatives of the people regarding this issue, there never has been any response – Jaya S Kotiyan, former GP president

Action will be taken

Proper action to resolve the issue will be taken by bringing the problem to the notice of the MLA and the MP – Praveen K Kotiyan, TP member

Long standing demand

The department must take action to resolve the long standing demand since the network problem began in Beladi area – Sadashiva Shetty, Beladi
