Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Government Employees’ Association has clarified that it is not holding any protest or stir on May 4. In a release, association president BP Manjegowda said the association has congratulated Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for his assurance of implementing the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission in his budget speech 2017-18.

This will benefit about six lakh state government employees. In fact, the finance department has already approved the proposal and is likely to notify the new commission anytime soon. “When this is the case, a handful of retired employees are announcing a protest on May 4 to gain cheap publicity. This ploy by the fake association will never break the unity of the government employees association. I want to reaffirm that the Karnataka State Government Employees’ Association is united and will not take part in any stir or protest,” Karnataka State Government Employees’ Association President of Manjegowd said.
