Chinese and Norwegian authorities have concluded that Norwegian salmon was likely not the source of the novel coronavirus
Following a meeting between Chinese and Norwegian officials, Norwegian Fisheries and Seafood Minister Odd Emil Ingebrigtsen has said that the source of the new Covid-19 outbreak in Beijing food market did not originate with fish from the Nordic country.
Reports of the virus found on cutting board at Xinfadi market in the Chinese capital triggered speculations around the source of the Coronavirus and supermarkets removed salmon from their shelves which affected the exports of the fish from the Nordic country.
However, Norway’s Food Safety Authority said there was no evidence of the fish being infected with the virus
