Old video of boy being beaten goes viral: DK police warns action against its circulation

Mangaluru: After an old video of a boy being beaten up surfaced and went viral on social media, Dakshina Kannada District police have warned the public not to circulate it.
In a Twitter post, Dakshina Kannada SP Dr. Amathe Vikram said that the viral video is from an incident that took place in 2021 under the jurisdiction of Subrahmanya Police Station.
” …a video of some youths punishing a boy is circulating on social media. This incident took place on 27/10/2021 in Subramanya police station,” Tweeted the official handle of Dakshina Kannada SP.
“A charge sheet against 10 persons has been submitted to the Hon’ble Court. Presently, the case is sub judice. Appropriate legal action will also be taken against those who spread such old videos on social media without checking their background and create social disharmony,” he said.
