‘One-stop Service Centre’ for women inaugurated

Mangaluru: The ‘One-stop Service Center for women was inaugurated by the senior most woman police officer Sathyavathi along with the junior most woman police officer Yogeshwari at the premises of Pandeshwar police station in the city on Wednesday, July 17.
Police commissioner Sandeep Patil spoke with the media after the inauguration and said, “One-stop service center for women is being started on the directions of the government, where in, women in distress will get police help, legal help, medical help and counselling, all at one place. Karnataka Police have prioritized women safety. ‘Abbakka Pade’ is already in action with women police being deployed at public places.”
“Women in distress can approach this centre where they can avail all types of facilities under one roof. It may be counselling, legal, medical and police help. We have started the center in a temporary building and this will soon be shifted to a new building for the building of which, measures will be taken,” said Mr Patil.
“Lawyers and doctors will be available on call. A permanent appointment process is on and within two weeks, permanent appointment will be done,” he added.
DCP law and order Hanumantharaya, DCP Crime and traffic Laxmi Ganesh, ACP Traffic Manjunath Shetty, ACP Central Bhaskar V B and White Doves founder Corrine Rasquinha were present at the programme.
