‘Out of control’ lorry hits several vehicles, shops after ‘brake failure’ at Yedapadavu

Bajpe: A lorry laden with soil hit several vehicles and shops, allegedly due to a brake failure at Yedapadavu Pete here on Friday evening.

The incident unfolded along the Mangaluru-Moodabidri National Highway 169.

The lorry brushed past at least 3 shops along the roadside and went on to hit several vehicles including a bus and a lorry. The ‘out of control’ lorry toppled and came to a halt.

Fortunately, there were no reports of human casualties. Drivers of the 2 lorries involved sustained injuries and have been rushed to

Three shops suffered structural damage, while a lorry, a private bus, and four parked scooters were also damaged.

Bajpe police have e reached the spot and are investigating.
