Sakleshpur: A police official on Tuesday evening held a Gandhian protest demanding justice on National Highway 75 in the town here against the tehsildar.
Police official Dayanand from the Rural Police Station here had come to the Appolo Pharmacy shop in the town. He had parked his car in the no parking area in front of the shop.
At that time, tehsildar Manjunath arrived at the spot. Seeing the illegally parked car, he ordered his driver to remove the air from the parked car’s tyres.
Dayanand came running out of the shop and had few arguments with the tehsildar who left after flattening the tyres.
Dayanand then sat next to his car holding a photo of Gandhiji protesting the tehsildar’s action stating that the tehsildar should have fined or issued notice to me but should not have to remove air from my car’s tyre.
The police official’s ‘Gandhigiri’ protest resulted in traffic congestion on the National Highway 75 for some time.
Finally, Sub Inspector Raghavendra from the town’s police station and Sub Inspector Chandrasekhar from the rural police station came and with the help of a few other policemen took Dayanand to the town’s station.
