Badami: Congress leader and former chief minister Siddaramiah and BJP’s Sriramulu shared the stage at the foundation stone-laying ceremony for a residential school building here on Friday, February 12.

The Dr Ambedkar’s Residential School is being constructed by the Department of Social Welfare at Mustigeri village in Badami Assembly constituency at an estimated cost of Rs 19.33 crore.

Speaking at the event Siddaramaiah said to Sriramulu, “Welcome Sriramulu, welcome to Badami constituency. Please provide more residential schools to our constituency.”

Siddaramaiah and Sriramulu, during their previous visits to the constituency for election campaigning, were engaged in fierce criticism of each other.

The former chief minister had defeat Sriramulu by a margin of only 1,696 votes.

Following the victory, Siddaramaiah claimed that the BJP had conspired to finish him politically but he had the blessings of Banashankari Devi and the people of the constituency by his side.
