Prankster allegedly puts ‘Statue Of Unity’ For Sale On OLX

Inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi in November 2018, Statue of Unity is dedicated to the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

However, someone jokingly put the Statue ‘for sale’. The statue worth Rs. 2989 crore was put for sale for only Rs. 30,000 to seek donation money for COVID-19.

The original listing had been immediately taken down by the company, but a Reddit user posted a screenshot of the Statue Of Unity on sale on OLX. The description read – ‘Emergency! Selling Statue of Unity because of urgent money required for the hospitals and healthcare equipments’.

Well, India is now battling Covid-19 and making efforts to curb the spread and it is our responsibility to understand the seriousness of the issue and cooperate with the government rather than playing pranks.
