Promised PM Modi win in 140+ seats in next Assembly election: Yediyurappa

Bengaluru: Senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said the party has set a target of 140+ seats in the upcoming Assembly elections in the state.
“We have determined to win more than 140 seats in the next elections and have promised Prime Minster that the target will be achieved. We have started working together towards making it happen,” Yediyurappa said.
Speaking to reporters, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, J P Nadda will be visiting the state often now in the wake of the election.
On the issue of the closure of Bhadravati’s Visvesvaraya Iron and Steel Ltd (VISL), he said that efforts were made long ago to save the plant. “Our MPs tried hard to save the Bhadravati factory. It is now beyond our control,” Yediyurappa said and added that the decision was taken on national interest.
