Prostitution den at Surathkal raided, one arrested

Surathkal: A police raid was conducted at a centre in a building near Idya near Surathkal on charges of immoral activity. The police were successful in arresting the accused Punit Kumar and also rescuing three women. The rescued women were later released, on Saturday, December 8.
Police sub-inspector of the CCB unit of the city received a tip off that some girls were used to conduct immoral activities in a house near the Sri Mahalaxmi Complex in Idya village under the Suratkal police station limits. Immediately the police PSI Kabbalraj along with his team of Seenappa, Subramanya, Raja M, Ashit Vishal D’Souza and Ramakrishna K G, police inspector of Suratkal police station conducted the raid. During the raid, the police found three young women and two customers. On query of the customers, they revealed that the Punit Kumar had called them to get involved in immoral activity with the young ladies.
The police arrested Punit Kumar and confiscated Rs 51,450 in cash, one mobile and the car bearing registration number KA 19 MH 7765 that was used in the act based on the complaint given by one of the male customer.
A case bearing number 238/2018 under column 3,4,5,6 of ITP act and IPC 370 is registered against the accused in the Surathkal police station. The accused has been remanded to police custody.
