
Puttur: Auto rickshaw driver dies in road mishap

An auto rickshaw driver died on the spot in a road accident in Uppinangady here on Tuesday November 29 evening.
The deceased Vasu Poojary, 54, was reportedly ferrying passengers to Uppinangady in his auto when his vehicle into an ATM cash van.
The passengers escaped unhurt in the accident, however the front portion of the auto was badly damaged. As per locals Poojary was coming in the wrong direction which caused the accident.
A case has been registered in this regard.
Concerns have also been raised over the rising potholes on the national highway which often leads to accidents. Moreover the ongoing four-laning of B C Road-Addahole national highway has led to the roads being covered in mud and is causing hindrance to traffic movement.
