Puttur: Police seize Rs. 40,000 worth of ganja, arrest accused

Puttur: Police have arrested a man who was trying to sell ganja and seized Rs. 40,000 worth of the illegal substance on Thursday at a bus stop in Mukrampadi.

The accused, identified as Iqbal P alias Ikku (35), son of Abubakar and a resident of Bullerikatte of Balnadu village. was working as a waiter at the bus stop on the Mysuru National Highway.

According to Puttur City police, Iqbal was caught with 1.020 kg of ganja at the bus stop in Mukrampadi on the Mani-Mysuru National Highway. The police were on their regular rounds when they noticed Ikku behaving suspiciously. They conducted a search and found the ganja in his possession.

The arrested accused has been produced in court, police added.
