Puttur shocked again: Rape attempt on school girl; accused nabbed

Puttur: Even while the gang rape incident of a fellow student is still raw, a rape attempt has been made on a minor girl. The second inhuman act within such a short span of time has left Puttur appalled.

The rape attempted was made on a minor dalit girl at Papemajalu in Puttur. It is alleged that a person identified as Ajit who is married and a resident of the same area has attempted the act. The victim child is being treated at the government hospital here.

In the backdrop of the incident, DSP Laxmiprasad has visited the location. He met the child admitted at the hospital and gathered information.

The accused Ajit has been arrested and a case in this connection has been registered at Sampya police station.
