PSI scam kingpin R D Patil, who had gone missing after bail, surrenders himself before court

Kalaburagi: The alleged kingpin of the PSI recruitment scam R.D. Patil Who had gone missing after being released on bail, has surrendered before a court here on Monday.

R D Patil surrendered himself before the fifth additional and JMFC court.

CID had gotten an arrest warrant issued against Patil in connection with a case registered in Tumkur about the irregularities in the PSI recruitment exam on Thursday. However, Patil had escaped before the officials could pick him up from his residence. CID officials had registered a case at Ashok Nagar police station in this regard.

Moreover, a notice had been issued to Patil to appear before the CID investigating officer Prakash Rathod on Monday for questioning in connection with the irregularities in the examination center at Gyan Jyothi English Medium School in Kalaburagi. Patil did not heed to the notice issued.

In the meantime, Patil had released a video, reportedly from a relative’s farmhouse near Gangapura in Afzalpur Taluk on Friday, which had gone viral.

In the midst of all this, he inevitably surrendered to the court.

It is learned that the CID officials are likely to approach the court seeking Patil’s custody for questioning in connection with the cases registered in Bengaluru and Tumakuru districts.
