Rains lash parts of Karnataka; One killed by lightning strike at Sindhanur

Bengaluru: Stormy rains lashed in various districts of the state on Saturday.

A boy was killed after being struck by lightning in the Malkapura camp of Sindhanur taluk on Saturday while grazing goats. The deceased has been identified as Shanthakumar Basavaraja (16) of Amarapura village. A case has been registered regarding this incident at the rural police station.

Koppal: Temple ‘gopura’ damaged

The ‘gopura’ of Sri Durgadevi temple in Navlitanda village of Kanakagiri taluk in Koppal district has been damaged. A crack appeared in the tower due to the storm, rain, and lightning. The temple tower was built 8 years ago.

Heavy rain in Chikkamagaluru 

Torrential rains with strong winds lashed the entire district, including Chikkamagaluru city. Mudigere, Koppa, Jayapura, and Balehonnur received torrential rainfall. Chikkamagaluru city, Mallenahalli, Khandya, and Muthodi areas have received in the evening for 3 days.

There has been moderate rain in Bayaluseeme, Tarikere, and Kadur.
