SC grants 3 weeks of interim protection for Arnab Goswami, TV channel

New Delhi: The supreme court on Friday, April 24 granted 3 weeks of interim bail and no coercive action against the petitioner Republic TV Editor in Chief Arnab Goswami.

In the order, the court said that Goswami can move an anticipatory bail in three weeks.

Supreme court also put a stay on all the FIR’s against Goswami except one that is filed in Nagpur and transferred it to Mumbai. The court has directed Mumbai Police Commissioner to provide security to Arnab Goswami and Republic TV.

Goswami on Thursday, April 24 filed a petition in the Supreme court over multiple FIRs filed against him in various parts of the country post his comments on Congress leader Sonia Gandhi in the wake of Palghar mob lynching on April 16.
