School reopening in DK postponed till Aug 28

Mangaluru: District’s Deputy Director of Public Instruction Malleswamy has said that the reopening of schools in the Dakshina Kannada district has been postponed till August 28.
The move comes in wake of the district’s COVID-19 positivity rate increased to more than 2 per cent.
The State government had set the criteria stating that districts can reopen schools if the positivity rate is less than 2 per cent.
Malleswamy said that physical sessions for classes 9 and 10 will be restarted soon after the rate falls below 2 per cent adding that until then online classes will continue as usual.
