Bengaluru: The traditional post-burial ritual of “Halu-Thuppa” (offering of milk and ghee) for Puneeth Rajkumar will be held on Tuesday, November 2.

As per Lingayat tradition, the ritual of ‘Halu-Thuppa’ will be done on the fifth day after the death. Today (Sunday) a puja will be performed at the tomb of Appu, said his brother Raghavendra Rajkumar.

Section 144 imposed around Kanteerava Studio:

Puneeth, who passed away due to cardiac arrest on Friday, was buried with full state honors today early morning at Kanteerava Studios.

Bengaluru deputy commissioner Manjunath said that section 144 has been imposed in areas surrounding the Kanteerava Studios. “Fans cannot enter the premises of the studio,” he added.

Managing the thousands of Appu’s fans who are still flocking to the studio, has been a headache for police.

After the family completes the ‘Halu-Thuppa’ ritual, fans will be allowed to view the Samadhi (tomb), Raghvendra Rajkumar said.
