In response to recent incidents of stone pelting during the Eid Milad procession, authorities have imposed Section 144 in Shivamogga city as a precautionary measure.

Under this order, gatherings, protests, marches, speeches, and any use of firearms or explosives are strictly prohibited.

Initially, Section 144 was enforced in the Shanti Nagar Ragigudda Ward on Sunday night, but as a preventive measure, it has now been extended to cover the entire city of Shivamogga. This restriction will remain in place until further notice.
