Senior citizen, woman assaulted; youth and father booked

Mangaluru: A senior citizen and a few ladies were assaulted a youth at Morgan’s Gate in Jeppu on Friday March 1st.
The accused youth is identified as Abdul Rahiman (28). It is learnt that the youth was recently booked the police for assaulting a lady doctor at a private hospital in the city.
The incident
Apparently, Abdul and his father had abused and threatened a senior citizen residing at Jeppu on Friday noon. The senior citizen retaliated and threatened to lodge a police complaint against the duo.
The warning did not go down well with the duo who located the house of the senior citizen, visited in the evening assaulted him. They also attacked the ladies who came to save the senior citizen with foul language.
Reportedly, through the timely intervention of the locals, any major injuries to the senior citizen and ladies was averted. The injured were admitted to a private hospital by the locals.
Based on the complaint by the senior citizen’s son Ashiq, Pandeshwar police have registered a case under section 341, 448 , 323, 324, 354, 355, 504, 506, and 34.
