Senior journalist M K Vidyaranya passes away

Bengaluru: Senior journalist M K Vidyaranya Krishnamurthy passed away on January 21. He was 77.
According to sources close to the family, Vidyaranya was unwell for the past year and was receiving medical treatment.
Vidyaranya had served at the news agency Press Trust of India (PTI) in Bengaluru in various capacities for over 3 decades. He rose to the position of the Chief of Bureau of Karnataka Unit of PTI. He had also served as a Senior Journalist in Vijay Times (now defunct) and the Times of India.
His last rites will be held at the Wilson Garden Crematorium on January 22, sources said.
