Shikaripura: 11-month-old baby dies after falling into water tank

Shikaripura: In a tragic incident, an 11-month-old infant died after accidentally falling into a water tank at Chikkajogihalli village in Shikaripura taluk in Shivamogga.

The deceased has been identified as Akshay, the son of photographer Devaraj.

The baby crawled and fell into the open tank when the family was busy with preparations of Puja on the occasion of Mahalaya Amavasya.

Akshay was discovered in the tank by his grandfather in the tank. The baby was rushed to a hospital in Shirkaripura, where doctors declared him dead.

Sources said that Akshay’s birthday first birthday was approaching and the family was preparing for holding a grand celebration. But, the sudden demise has shocked the family.
