Shivamogga: in a tragic incident, three members of a family allegedly died by suicide as they were debt ridden in Milagatta under Doddapet police station..

The deceased are identified as Pratapa (70) and Danamma (63) and their foster son Manjunath (25).

Reportedly, Danamma used to do odd jobs for their livelihood as her husband was too old and their foster son was bed-ridden after he suffered a stroke.

They had borrowed money to meet their needs but were finding it difficult to repay the creditors. Fed up of this situation, the family allegedly consumed poison-laced food.

While the elderly couple died at their house, Manjunath breathed his last at the hospital.
