Chikkaballapur: Police arrested two persons for murdering a woman by slitting her throat here on Friday night.
The deceased identified as Nalini had returned home after attending puja on Friday night when her assailants barged into the residence and assaulted her. Hearing screams, Nandini’s neighbors rushed to her aid but the killers had slit her throat.
The neighbors however chased and caught hold of the killers and handed them over to the police.
During the questioning, the arrested persons — Harish and Mukhesh revealed that they were hired by the woman’s son, named Badrinath to execute her murder. Badrinath had booked a room for them in Chikkaballapur to study the movements of his mother and plan the murder, they stated.
It is gathered that Nandini and Badrinath were having a dispute over a property valued at Rs 10 crore.
Police contacted Badrinath, who refuted the accusations. He stated that he is on a visit to temple towns of Kollur and Singandhuru and would co-operate with the police in their investigations.
