Tumakuru:‎‎ A couple who was engaged to be married soon marry after convincing their family members, met a tragic end.

Sushma (22) of Arehalli village and Dhanush (23) of Maskal village in Tumakuru were head over heels in love with each other for the past two years. Dhanush who ran a cloth shop in Bengaluru had recently convinced Sushma’s family to get married to her. But fate had something else in store for the couple.

On May 11, Dhanush was killed in an accident near Kulanahalli in Nelamangala while on his way to attend a  fair in his village.

This tragic turn of events had a profound effect on Sushma. Heartbroken and forlorn, she decided to follow Dhanush in his death. Soon after Dhanush’s last rites were held, Sushma consumed poison and tried to end her life.
