
Subrahmanya: Car hits group of PUC students; 3 seriously injured

Subrahmanya: Three students were seriously injured after being hit by a car while returning home from college here on Thursday evening.
The incident occurred at a turn near the college in front of Vallisha near SSPU in Kukke Subrahmanya.
Six girls, studying at the Shri Subrahmanyeshwara Pre-university College, were walking towards Subrahmanya Town from the college when the car knocked them down from behind.
Three of the girls — identified as Sinchana V P, Bimbike, and Hansika S R — were seriously injured and have been admitted to government hospitals in Sullia and Puttur. Whereas, Three others — Shalini M., Jashmita, and Kriti — were sent home after receiving first aid at Subrahmanya Government Hospital.
Based on a complaint, Subrahmanya police have registered a case against the car driver and seized the vehicle involved. It is said that the driver lost control of the vehicle as he dozed off at the wheel.
