Vicky Kaushal and Nora Fatehi’s song ‘Pachtaoge’ was a huge success. The makers decided to release a female version featuring Nora Fatehi in the lead. On August 14 the music video released and two days after the launch, the song has landed in a controversy.
It is said that the video of the song is not original but has in fact been copied from Beyonce’s 2014 song Mine. The concept of both the songs look similar
Nora Fatehi is seen drapped in a white cloak with few dancers dancing around her, indicating the matters of her heart.
Diet Sabya noticed the similarity in the two videos and posted it on their Instagram handle with the caption “@tseries.official out here stealing from THE QUEEN. Guts on”
However, Nora Fatehi reacted to the controversy, speaking to Filmfare, she said that she has conceptualized the whole video herself but her look is not inspired by Beyonc. Instead it is her take on Michelangelo’s sculpture Pieta that depicts Jesus on the lap of Mother Mary.
She said that she is inspired by Beyonce, among other stars and was one of the many reference points, in terms of dancers, set-up and mood.
