Mangaluru: Slamming BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal for his fake freedom fighter remark, Congress leader UT Khader on Thursday said that such remarks reflect the attitude of the BJP government.
In a controversial statement, Yatnal on Tuesday called centenarian Harohalli Srinivasaiah Doreswamy a “fake freedom fighter who behaves like a Pakistan agent”.
“There are many fake freedom fighters. There is one in Bengaluru. Now we have to say what Doreswamy is. Where is that old man? He behaves like a Pakistan agent,” Patil told reporters.
Terming Yatnal’s remarks as an insult to all freedom fighters, Khader said that those commenting against Doreswamy are traitors.
On the issue of the Delhi violence, Khader said that it was unfortunate that the government has not been able to restore normalcy even after 32 persons have been killed in the violence that escalated since Sunday.
“BJP state president has blamed Congress for the violence. Is this some kind of joke. Despite being appointed state party president, Nalin has no decision making authority,” said Khader adding that BJP is only indulging in blame-game against Congress
