Transperson’s murder case: Five held

Bengaluru: The Karnataka police arrested five persons on the charge of murdering a 23-year-old trans person for allegedly verbally abusing one of them a few days ago.
The arrested are Santosh, Kumar, Mahesh, Manikanta and Naveen, all residents of West Bengaluru.
Reportedly, the accused had allegedly fatally attacked Anika aka Sumanth after she asked for some money from them and lost her cool when they did not give it and shamed her for begging.
They allegedly used wooden logs to assault Anika before fleeing. Anika was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where she succumbed the next day.
