Tumkur: Three killed, child critical after car rams into parked lorry

Tumkur: Three persons were killed and a child sustained serious injuries after the car in which they were traveling rammed into a stationary lorry on the national highway here.

The deceased have been identified as Annapurna (55), Aditi (32) and Arathi all residents of Bengaluru.

As per reports, the Pune-bound lorry was parked by the roadside here. The car, headed towards Sira from Bengaluru was speeding and rammed into the lorry, thus killing two of its occupants on the spot. Another died on the way to the hospital. The child who sustained injuries in the mishap was rushed to the district hospital and is said to be in a critical condition.

Three other children who were in the car at the time of the accident escaped without any injuries. The car was completely damaged due to the impact of the collision.

Kora police rushed to the spot and registered a case.
