Two women lost their lives at the KSRTC bus stand in Tumkur after they got trapped between two buses. The victims have been identified as Srirangapatna Taluk resident K. Puttayamma and Pankaja, hailing from Shettihalli village.
The incident unfolded as a group of six women from Shettihalli village gathered at the KSRTC bus stand, eagerly awaiting a bus to transport them to the Goravanahalli temple located in Tumkur.
Tragically, as the women were about to board one of the buses, a sudden and unexpected movement caused the bus to shift backward. In the ensuing chaos, two women found themselves wedged between the two buses, resulting in fatal injuries that claimed their lives instantly.
Fortunately, the four other women who had accompanied them narrowly escaped unharmed. The driver of the KSRTC bus involved in the incident swiftly fled from the scene.
The bodies of the deceased women were promptly transported to the district hospital in Tumkur for further examination and procedures.
