Two dead, four injured in horrific car crash near Mandya

Mandya: Two persons lost their lives, and four others sustained injuries when an Innova car they were travelling in lost control and collided with a roadside tree near Vasuvalli village, Malavalli taluk, on Sunday night.

The deceased have been identified as Hemant Yadav (17) from Govindaraja Nagar Bengaluru, and Darshan (21). Hemant was dead at the spot while Darshan succumbed to injuries while being transported to the hospital.

The others — Tejas, Mahadev, Srinivas, and Abhishek, who sustained serious injuries — have been admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru for medical treatment.

The deceased and the injured are friends. They were returning from Siddappaji Temple in Chikkallur, Kollegala taluk, to Bengaluru when the man behind the wheel lost control and crashed into a tree.

The Belakavadi police station has registered a case in connection with the incident.
