Two drug smugglers arrested in UP’s Bahraich, smack worth 2.5 cr seized

Two alleged drug smugglers were arrested here on Monday and 250 grams of smack worth around Rs 2.5 crores was seized from them, police said.

The accused have been identified as Sharif, a resident of Barabanki and Sadiq Ali alias Bahlwan, from Bahraich, Superintendent of Police Prashant Verma said.

Based on intelligence input, police searched two people in the Mansoorganj area of the city and recovered the narcotics from the two accused, he said. The recovered smack is worth Rs 2.5 crore in the international market, the SP said, adding further action is being taken against the two.
