Covid 19: Two new cases in Dakshina Kannada; K’taka tally rises to 589

Mangaluru/Bengaluru: Thirteen new cases of coronavirus, including two from Dakshina Kannada has been reported in the state. Till date 589 persons have been infected, including 22 deaths and 251 discharges.
A 69-year-old male from Bantwal taluk (contact of patient 390) and a 62-year-old male from the district (contact of patient 536) have been admitted to the designated hospital in Dakshina Kannada.
Among the 13 other new cases reported, six cases are from Davangere, two from Kalaburagi and one each from Vijayapura, Dharwad and Chikkaballarpura.
A total of 24 cases were detected from 5 pm on April 30 to 5 pm on May 1, said the health department in its evening bulletin.
In Dakshina Kannada till date 24 positive cases of coronavirus has been confirmed. This includes 3 deaths and 12 discharges.
Out of 24 cases, four are from Kerala and one each from Bhatkal and Udupi. Presently nine cases are active in the district.
