Uchila: A fishing boat named “Sri Girija” owned by Uchila resident Vimala C Puthran, capsized on Monday, December 12 morning, causing a loss worth lakhs of rupees.
In the wee hours of Monday, seven fishermen had set out for fishing.
As the fishing boat was sailing in the sea, the high tides caused due to Cyclone Mandous, tossed the boat. Due to this, the fishermen were thrown into the rough sea.

The cost of the damages caused is estimated to be Rs. 6.50 lakhs, as per the complaint filed by the boat owner with the Padubidri Police.
